Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah! I'm in the middle of having 0 holiday spirit this year, but I still tried to do something festive to celebrate the holiday. Here's hoping next year will be better...
We started off with a dessert potluck at work, plus exchanging of Secret Santa gifts! I made Christmas tree brownies, and they were super easy and popular. To make them, just bake brownies, cut them into triangles, and decorate them with frosting and sprinkles.
Christmas Eve was very small, and I cooked dinner for my family. I made fried shrimp, parmesan tilapia, green beans, and potato wedges. We decided to open gifts Christmas Eve night instead of on Christmas morning. I got a bunch of cold weather things (thank goodness), and Cookie even got some new toys from "Santa."
For Christmas day, we kept with our tradition of seeing a movie at San Marco Theatre. This year, they were playing Rogue One. I got to see it last week with my friend Cody, but I was up for taking a break from packing and going again. I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan, but I thought it was a great movie.
San Marco Theatre has just one screen, and a really cool setup with tables between most of the seats.
And also, food and beer for pretty reasonable prices.
It started raining (Florida...), so we didn't get to take our annual Christmas tree picture in San Marco Square. Nothing a selfie couldn't solve!
After the movie, we went over to Sidecar for drinks.
Sidecar always has this eggnog special during the holidays. The drink looks like a huge pain to make, so we felt really bad for ordering 6 of them from the bartender.
After an eggnog and some fun times with friends, we all headed home for the night. And now here I am...buried in boxes.
